Weekend happiness, and an exciting week ahead!

This weekend was fantastic!

The boys birthday was on friday

My lovely Sister-In-Law and her equally as lovely Fiance visited for th weekened, and many fantastic family gatherings were held

we finally got ourselves a grown-up camera! It is our new pet. I named him Olly, because i'm silly like that.

we love Olly quite a bit!

Sunday morning, we had a lovely breakfast at one of our most favoritiest restaurants in town,

and from there made a completely spontaneous day trip to Eureka Springs! It was so much fun to take our new camera along and try it out while walking along the streets of Eureka, trying a few restaurants and stopping in some shops along the way, people watching ( because there are some very interesting people in Eureka...)

and we found (and purchased) THIS!

such a cool replica of "The Kiss"(artist is James Dean)! notice pete the cat, totally interrupting :) When i student taught elementary, the kids were ALL about pete the cat..it was one of their favorite song activities, so of course seeing his art all over this litle store in Eureka was so exciting for me!

It was indeed a successful outing, and we were definitely worn out by the time we got home..

Now for the exciting events taking place this week!!

Tomorrow I will not be working. Why, you ask? because I will be HERE!

oh yes...

and then, thursday, I will be rushing out the door after work and driving two hours to my Alma Mater to hear this lovely lady. She is one of the most fantastic jazz singers around today, and my absolute favorite when it comes to scat singing! such a smooth, lyrical voice..I adore her- and her new cd!!

whew..what a week..ok, time for lunch! Expect some fun Eureka Springs pics (by Olly!) quite soon..

Have a lovely day!

Spring...please come visit!

I just do not know what my deal is today. Maybe it's because it looks gorgeous outside..and yet, its still 30 degrees. Maybe it's because I stumbled upon so many lovely spring and summer garments while visiting other blogs this morning..maybe its the music I've been listen to..I dont know, but I am absolutely ITCHING for spring to be here-right now!

unfortunately the prediction of snow on friday has crushed any dreams I had left of spring coming a bit early this year. sigh. why?

oh well, the longer I wait the more glorious the first warm day will be! The day that I can bring out the skirts, flip flops and tanks will be such a fabulous day..I really cannot wait..

really.

so ..for now, I will just look at lovely spring-like eye candy
such as

I-Love-Your-Face

About a month ago, my very sweet and super talented friend/photographer took some fantastic photos of me and the boy.

Here are just a few (of almost 70!)

this last one is just too funny..

She is so so talented! I loved all 68 photos and I can't wait to do a make-up bridal portrait session with her as soon as the weather warms up! (I never got to do one before my wedding :-/ )

you can find more of her on facebook by searching for Khan Art. She is truly fantastic

Thanks Saira!!

Peace.

Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.”

Such wise words

"Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let the pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place."

(If anyone knows where this quote originates from, please let me know- I could not find out!)

"Always the years between us. Always the years, always the love, always the hours"

I love this movie

No really, I do! I know what people say about it ..and yes it is a bit off..I realize that.

And yes, I do realize that I may be the only person to really truly love this movie.

I dont care. I love it. Its so beautiful..

The casting is perfect. The dialogue is fantastic. The music is haunting.

I watched this movie last night ( yes I own it..on VHS of all things) with my wonderful husband who has sat through so many movies he would NEVER choose to watch like..Rent...A Chorus Line..How to Deal..Mamma Mia..and even An Affair to Remember!!
all with very little complaining!

he really truly is an amazing man..

That wasnt my point! My point is that there is one line in the movie that I absolutely love, and I have been thinking about it all day. It may be my new motto

"You cannot find peace by avoiding life, Leonard"
It is so true
there are so many things that Nicole Kidmans character (Virginia Woolf) says that just floor me. but that one is the best by far.
And though my heart belongs to Meryl Streep in most cases, Nicole Kidman definitely steals the show in this film..She is a perfect Virginia Woolf in my book (ha).

7 Months ago today

I was doing this

and it was so lovely!

I know 7 months isn't a milestone anniversary - but every month anniversary is special to me:) I dont know why..I just get excited and feel the need to do at least ONE special thing to commemorate the occasion

I LOVE this guy

So so so much! He is the bees knees- the best part of my day- my best friend - my infinite supply of hugs - my therapist - my comic relief - my chef - my daily reminder that I am fortunate in so many ways - my "it" and my forever and ever

( by the way, even though its practically impossible to embarrass the dear boy, he would KILL me if he knew I put this picture up...in case you're wondering, he's watching basketball. And apparently he's really enjoying it ;) )
